Christina is a knowledgeable, intuitive teacher with a calm and capable presence. I’ve studied and practiced yoga for 25 years, yet I never leave one of her classes without learning something new. The positions and techniques Christina shared in her restorative yoga workshop were especially beneficial in improving the quality of my “down time.” Thanks to her dynamic instruction and gentle counsel, I am able to relax more deeply, sleep more soundly and awake without shoulder or neck pain. I spend several weeks a year in the Albuquerque area and Christina’s classes enhance my every visit. I’m a happier, healthier person for having crossed paths with her. ~ ~ Pamela Primeggia, Long Island NY
“My dear husband Dale passed away after an extended decline. I grieved at home for 2 more years then decided to take a yoga class. Hallelujah. That was about 8 months ago. Twice a week I went trying to put myself back together. The first time she said the universe loved me, I burst into tears. I was sore every day for 6 months. I came to like it. Christina held a special 6 Saturday class called “I am Vitality” , I attended. She told me that if I did the program correctly I would gain an inch in height and lose 1 inch at my waist.” *(Donna had an extra several weeks and got part of these results on her own before we did post-measurements)
…” I gained 1 ½ “in height and lost 3 ½” in my waistline.
My balance and strength have both increased greatly. I now pick up my own 50lb bag of chicken food and load it from the cart into the truck. I took my two grandsons skiing last Christmas with the utmost confidence. Trust Christina; she knows what she is talking about. Our classes are always challenging and centering. I cannot think of a better gift I have given myself in these 62 years.” Donna, Student, Garden Gate Day Spa, Los Lunas
“The knowledge and passion Christina has about this work is obvious. In this short time, my posture is improving. My body likes this new way of walking.” Paulette Pollen, Alb, NM
“The pictures really helped me see how I was moving … Those images have stuck in my mind and I find myself often correcting my posture and how I am bending/lowering my body. … and while we were walking I was definitely noticing a difference… I’m loving the series – the guided meditation has been awesome, I hadn’t experienced that before – (Christina is) great at it, which helps. … I appreciate how you are giving us the history that goes along with the movement and concepts.” Allie Coleman, Alb, NM
Yoga Classes and individual session (home practice)
I would love to find the words to convince you how beneficial a personal lesson can be! I have had two sessions of “home practice” with Christina: it is a huge plus. I did it once with a friend and then twice alone, and in both cases I was so happy! It gave me confidence in working alone, without creating wrong habits so difficult to correct once the crease has taken.
A five star program. Isabelle Kessler, NM
Christina has been my yoga teacher for 2 to 3 years now. The clarity of her directions and her ability to identify problems and make corrections are excellent. She is able to personalize directions and expectations even in a group setting. She is reliable and dependable. ~ Margo Chamberlain, Alb., NM
I have taken yoga from Christina for four years. Not only is she a very good, pure spirited, kind person, she is steadfast in her commitment to her students. We started yoga… with Christina’s predecessor. When that teacher was moving out of state, she told us she was giving her class to Christina, because her alignment was so good. I remember wondering what that meant, so my husband and I continued with the class, to see how Christina would do, and we’ve followed her to a local studio. She has shared with us (techniques for) healthy walking, and when I recently asked her why my back hurt, when sitting in meditation, she gave me excellent instructions… Her hands informed my body how it might feel, in better alignment. My meditation improved dramatically. I have taken a handful of Alexander sessions, and done other forms of body work, and trained in body oriented psychotherapy. I know that the body can be healed and (that) help(s) with healing the mind and soul. ~ Debbie Purdy, Alb., NM 2014
Christina has been my yoga teacher for a year and a half. She emphasizes technique – breathing, posture, alignment – in classes that are gentle but that require focus and attention. Slowly, your strength builds up, your muscles stretch, you work your way into the next level of a certain posture, nothing rushed, nothing forced. I think Christina is a natural healer, and passionate about her work. She is knowledgeable about the body, about yoga, and about people. She has what I think of as one of the most important aspects of a good teacher – a willingness to learn. She offers her (considerable) knowledge and is always learning more, through seeking further knowledge directly (reading, attending workshops, observing well) and through interacting with her students. Christina is smart, thoughtful, and dedicated. The thing I like best about her class is the way her work promotes health. She incorporates meditative as well as physical aspects of yoga, encourages you to start where you are and gently expand from there, and is attentive to the needs of individual students. You get a good workout at the same time you are developing better and better techniques for posture, balance, strength, and breathing that you can bring into everyday life. She is a gem.” Julie Reichert, Alb. NM May 2014
“Christina begins our yoga class with a depth of quiet and focus from the maturity of her being. She effortlessly guides us through an aligned spine and flexible body parts, with a grounded, peaceful, and joyful being.” Katya Miller, Alb., NM
